The colourful guppy can add excitement to any size of community aquarium. A wide variety of stunning colour strains have been developed through selective breeding programs to provide the aquarist with a huge selection to choose from.

The guppy with live happily with other fish but their long flowing fins can often prove too tempting for some Tetras and pretty much all Barbs. ‘Guppy only tanks’ should not be dismissed as they can be truly stunning.

Being live bearers, it is very common to get up in the morning and find a new generation has been born overnight.

Guppies have a wide temperature range and will happily live at room temperature in most houses.
