The Hoplosternum is a great little catfish. It is non-aggressive but armour plated which makes it an ideal for both Community aquariam and also to house with some more boisterous tanks mates if required. They like to live in groups of 3 or more. They are very tolerant of a wide range of tank conditions.

They have an ability to breath atmospheric air from the surface.
